Pisces - The Fish - February 20th - March 20th

Pisces, The Fish, is the twelfth and final sign of the Zodiac. The Sun officially leaves Pisces at the moment of the Vernal or Spring Equinox.

In Greek mythology Pisces represents the fish into which Aphrodite and her son Eros transformed on the banks of the River Euphrates in order to escape the fiery god Typhon. They are tied together with a cord to their tails, ensuring they cannot lose each other. The twin fishes were placed in the Zodiac in honor of their heroic deed of saving Aphrodite and Eros from Typhon.

Pisces is obviously a water sign, sharing the water traits of being emotionally reserved, intense but sensitive. As a mutable sign it is associated with adaptability, service providing and expansion. Mutable signs are often restless with a longing for movement, and in the case of Pisces the two fish can try moving in opposite directions at the same time! Pisces is the most watery sign, constantly trying to adapt themselves to ever changing feelings.

In antiquity Pisces was ruled by Jupiter but since its discovery Neptune has been considered the modern ruler, and therefore takes traits from both planets. Jupiter is associated with growth, expansion, prosperity, and good fortune. Neptune, also the most watery of planets, imparts idealism and compassion upon Pisces.

Pisces is described as a feminine, negative introverted sign.

Pisces is compatible with other water signs such as Scorpio, Cancer, and other Pisces, but also matches well with the earth signs of Taurus and Capricorn.

Pisces colours are torquoise, purple and green. February and March birthstones are amethyst and aquamarine.
